Solo: A Star Wars Story opens May 25, 2018.

First the Teaser Trailer, now the full length trailer. Is everyone now completely excited for Solo: A Star Wars Story?
Yeah, we're on the fence too. On the one hand, it's Star Wars; on the other hand, it's a movie about a character we love, but set as a prequel film and played by a guy who isn't the original actor.
Should we give Alden Ehrenreich a chance? Of course, everyone deserves a chance, but the more dialog he has in the trailer the less we hear Han Solo and the more we hear a stranger speaking.
Issues that we run into include the "redesigned" Millennium Falcon, and what's this, but another new Tie Fighter?!?
Don't get us wrong, we love Tie Fighters, but why do we only get new designs during prequel films (i.e. Rogue One and the Tie Striker)?
Overall, we feel as if the teaser was more enjoyable than the actual trailer itself.
Will we see Solo: A Star Wars Story in theaters, you bet. Will we own the DVD/Blu-Ray, yep. Will this be the best Star Wars film of all time? Well, only time shall tell.
Solo: A Star Wars Story opens May 25, 2018.

Well here it is, a teaser for Solo: A Star Wars Story. Are you guys/gals excited?
Don't forget, full trailer airs tomorrow during Good Morning America.

So here it is, the not so highly anticipated first image for Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Two things we wonder about from this image: 1) What the heck is wrong with Lando Calrissian's (Donald Glover) hair. 2) Is that ship supposed to be the Millennium Falcon? That is most definitely not something they need to be screwing with.
Solo is still expected to open in May 2018. What do you guys think of the image?

LEGO has finally revealed one of their Star Wars Celebration Orlando exclusives, Detention Block Rescue.
This set should be a quick build at only 220 pieces and comes with two good looking minifigures; Han Solo and Luke Skywalker in Stormtrooper disguise.
Unfortunately this set comes with two drawbacks. First, it's priced at $40. Second, you have to enter the LEGO Lottery to even have a chance to enter the booth to purchase. (For more information on the LEGO Lottery click HERE)

So far this year I've read two different series by comic book writer Brian Wood, Marvel's X-Men and Dark Horse Comics Star Wars, and so far I'm not overly impressed.
Wood's X-Men has been by far the most over-hyped series that I've seen in a long time, and I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the fact that he's the writer; I do however think it has something to do with the fact that it's an all female X-Team, something which has never been done before. As far as story goes it's nothing exciting, and something about the way he wrote Jubilee drives me crazy (still haven't put a finger on what though).
When it comes to Dark Horse Comics' Star Wars series, well the first issue was okay, then it just took a turn for the worst. May be somebody paid good money to have Brian Wood write Leia as a crack-shot pilot (even the leader of an elite X-Wing fighter squad), but if not then this has to be the worst idea of all-time.
Now some people don't like to blame the writer for the artwork, but it's the writer's job to write the scene for the artist, so when Chewbacca decides to open the top hatch of the Millenium Falcon and shoot down a Tie Fighter there's nobody to blame but Wood, okay the editor too but Wood shouldn't have wrote the scene this way.
In case you don't know anything about Star Wars or the Millenium Falcon, there is a quad laser cannon on both the top and bottom of the Falcon, so why not use them!?!
It may be the fact that I've grown up on X-Men and Star Wars and I am being a tad bit critical, fore I have heard good things about Brian Wood's Conan series, also by Dark Horse, but I just have a hard time with everybody praising Brian Wood and his work.
Is there a writer or artist out there that you feel is overrated?

Here is the poster created for Patton Oswalt's Star Wars / Marvel rant seen on NBC's Parks and Recreation.
And just in case you missed it, here's the video.
Got to admit, he hits on some pretty good ideas. We vote for Patton Oswalt to write or direct at least one of the upcoming Star Wars films.

Once again Timothy Zahn has struck gold with his latest Star Wars novel, Scoundrels; a tale of corruption, thievery, and revenge.
Scoundrels features such classic characters like Han Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, and one surprise appearance. We also come to know of Bink, her twin sister Tavia, Dozer, Zerba, Kell, Rachele, and Dayja. Also featured in the story is an Expanded Universe favorite, Winter.
What was enjoyable about this novel was that not only did it feature characters we know, but it showed what they were up to between Episode IV: A New Hope and Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Also answered was the all elusive question of what the heck happened to all of Han's reward money?!?
The placement in the timeline was also a negative for me at the beginning of this novel. With both Han and Lando seeing each other now, it felt like it would take away from what we've come to know as that gut wrenching, what's going to happen moment when the two come face-to-face on Bespin. But ultimately by novel's end Zahn had made sure to restore that moment.
A little bit longer Star Wars novel for a change, Scoundrels comes in somewhere at around 390 pages, but fear not, it's a simple read and will have you so engrossed that you won't want to put it down.
Star Wars - Scoundrels by Timothy Zahn earns a 5/5.

First we must start off by saying that we never thought Disney would go out and buy Lucasfilm, nor did we expect them to do it for only $4 billion either. And with any major company buying another there are always pros and cons (or in this case more like concerns).
The biggest concern for many was that Disney, a company that mainly focuses on producing content for children, now owns Lucasfilm, the company that brought us Star Wars. For many of us, after a very long deep breath, we came to realize that every things going to be okay and that this isn't the first time Disney has bought a company that made people cringe. Remember back in 2009 when Disney bought Marvel (also dropping $4 billion then too)? There was panic then; but since then we've seen many great Marvel films, which included a fantastic Avengers movie, and the comics and toys have remained at the same standard that they were prior to Disney's purchase. So now relax Star Wars fans, remember these guys have produced many successful live-action films which not only include multiple Marvel films, but also several Pirates of the Caribbean and National Treasure films.
The other concern is that Disney immediately dropped the bombshell that there will be an Episode 7, 8, 9, and more to follow every 2-3 years. Of course you can't help but be a little excited by this news, but then that feeling of dread starts to sink in; where in the timeline do these films take place? Are the original characters going to return? Will 7 through 9 be based off of Timothy Zahn's Thrawn trilogy or some other set of books from the Expanded Universe?!?!
Well here's what we know so far...
The only real major con with the entire Disney acquiring Lucasfilm and the Star Wars name, is what will these future films do to the currently established Expanded Universe? Seriously folks, the prequel films tampered with the Expanded Universe and The Clone Wars animated series almost completely destroyed all novelizations put into place between Episode II and Episode III; can you image what the destruction could end up looking like for the Expanded Universe? We shudder just thinking about it.
But alas there are some positives to the madness (other than of course the major fact that we get more Star Wars films).
Though we fear for the Expanded Universe, and probably always will, we are still very excited for what will come out of Disney and Lucasfilm in the future and look forward to trying to acquire the thousands of action figures that are sure to follow. People say change is good, well folks we have change, so let us prepare for the good.
Feel free of course to drop a comment below and tell us how you feel about this new endeavor of Disney's; what you look forward too, what you fear will take place, or anything else that comes to mind.

The following are characters that we, and many others, hope to see before Star Wars: The Clone Wars comes to an end.
One of the biggest characters of the franchise must have an appearance, and it doesn't have to be big or even be very significant to the episode. In fact with the addition of the following character there is a simple scene that would make many Star Wars fans happy.
Pair Han and Lando together, place them in a cantina, add a sabaac game and the bet of the Millennium Falcon, and you have the perfect scene to appear in a Clone Wars episode. See that's all it takes to make us happy.
Fans of the Expanded Universe have read a lot about Natasi Daala, and one thing we've come to learn from all that reading is that she was the former lover of one Grand Moff Tarkin. Since Tarkin already appears in The Clone Wars, it only makes since that Daala should make an appearance too.
Pellaeon is another Expanded Universe favorite; well if you have a love for the Empire he is anyways. A nice little arc involving Pellaeon, Daala, and Tarkin could be done. Not only would this give fans of later novels in the Expanded Universe timeline a chance to see younger versions of these characters and their first interactions, but opens them up to a younger generation who may not yet know of them.
The Clone Wars does already feature a good number of Bounty Hunters, many of whom were created just for the show, but Zuckuss is one from the movies that would be cool to see messing with Fett's and Bossk's plans.
If you've ever read any Star Wars book by Timothy Zahn that involved Thrawn, then this no doubt makes sense. Thrawn is not only the best Imperial officer of all-time, but he is around during the Clone Wars era; as seen in Zahn's novel Outbound Flight.
These are just some of the Star Wars characters we'd love to see make an appearance in The Clone Wars animated series. Who would you like to see?

Peter Mayhew, the man who plays one of the most iconic Sci-Fi characters in history, Star Wars' Chewbacca, actually answered a pair of our questions over on Twitter!
Fanboys director Kyle Newman has not yet received the actual green light for "Chewie" from George Lucas, but has high hopes that this will be coming soon.
If you find yourself over on Twitter make sure to follow Peter Mayhew @TheWookieeRoars
