That's Just Scary

It's been a day chock full of racing; first there was the 100th running of the Indy 500, then Nascar's Nextel Cup race the Coca-Cola 600.

But here's why I'm posting about it...

First in the Indy 500 on the final lap, race leader J.R. Hildebrand crashed coming out of turn 4 and ended up finishing second as he skidded across the finish line on three wheels.

Later in the evening was the Coca-Cola 600. This time on the final lap, leader Dale Earnhardt Jr. ends up running out of gas coming into the final turn and ends up 7th.

Now what makes this really interesting...look at the photos, notice something?

That's right, the primary sponsor for both of these cars is "THE UNITED STATES NATIONAL GUARD" How weird is that? I don't think that's ever happened before.

Congrats to Dan Wheldon for his win in the Indy 500 and to Kevin "Where Did He Come From" Harvick for his win of the Coca-Cola 600.
