To The Comic Book Store #46

In and out, that's become a standard part of the run these past couple of weeks, which is quite sad because I miss the conversations and the flat out B.S.

Oh well I still came away with some pretty good comics.

Superman or Batman

This is an argument that will never see a conclusion; Superman or Batman, who is the better superhero.

SUPERMAN - an alien sent to Earth during the destruction of his home planet Krypton. He has some of the most wanted powers; speed, strength, laser eyes, the ability to see through anything, and oh yea, the ability to fly. As great as he sounds, his weakness is a little green rock known as Kryptonite, which will bring him to his knees and make him very vulnerable.

When he's not being Superman, he's Clark Kent, reporter for the Daily Planet. Just your average dork, who is in love with fellow reporter Lois Lane, who ironically just happens to be madly in love with Superman.

BATMAN - a boy who had both parents murdered while he was still very young. Batman has no special powers, and all of his abilities have human limitations. What makes him great is that he has all of these gadgets and top of the line technology that no one can compete with.

Batman's real identity is Bruce Wayne; self made millionaire. He lives alone in Gotham city, with the exception of his butler Alfred and a side kick from time to time, in an enormous mansion, which has a secret lair underneath. Wayne is the Donald Trump of the comic book universe.

My Conclusion - Superman may have all the natural powers, but Batman has worked hard to move up the chain, and that to me makes him a better superhero.

Science Fiction @ The Movies

Here are some trailers for movies that will be hitting the big screen in the next couple of months. These films seem to have some big potential, but without support they could just as well be failures.

Enjoy!!

BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT

Batman: The Dark Knight

So talk about the upcoming Batman: The Dark Knight has begun, and in my opinion this movie is going to be terrible. I did not like the idea of Batman Begins and the next movie is another step backwards in my mind.

First of all there was no reason to go backwards in the timeline. It was just something that screwed with the original back story, and now it's going to get worse. The villain for the upcoming film is none other than the Joker. That's right the Joker. Maybe I'm the only one that remembers this but the first Batman film had a guy named Jack Nicholson play the Joker, who we saw the creation and destruction of. So why another movie with the Joker? Please anyone?

Whats worse is the Joker is to be played by Heath Ledger, who was a respected by most until he did this film called Brokeback Mountain (which I never saw, and never will).

Some may feel that it's too early to make a decision on this film, which is to be released in 2008, but me, I've already decided that this is one film I'm not wasting my hard earned cash on.
