Sucker Punch (Movie Review)

First off, have you people seen the trailer for Sucker Punch?

NO?!? Well then first things first, watch this trailer....

Still not out the door to see it? Well maybe our review well help you decide.

First off Zack Snyder (the director) opens a little unconventionally then most would have; no dialog, just music and the opening action of events that lead up to Baby Doll's (Emily Browning) being taken to the mental hospital.

The film provides a great amount of action/fight scenes, has hot women, big guns/swords, massive explosions and just about a little of something for everyone (Samurais, dragons, robots, a zombie army).

Now we will warn you of this, if you don't pay attention at the beginning, you could miss something and possibly be lost the entire film.

There are a few surprises in this film, and no we won't ruin them for you. Zack Snyder did a fantastic job on this one, and some of those conclusions you may have drawn from the trailer, may be changed after you've seen this film.

Our recommendation for Sucker Punch is simple...GO AND SEE IT TODAY!!!

And if you have already seen it, what did you think? Leave us a comment, we love hearing from you.

MEGACON 2011

Once a year the Sci-Fi, Anime, RPG, and Comic Book fans of Florida gather in Orlando to attend the annual Megacon Convention

The event runs for three days (Fri, Sat, Sun) and has appearances from both media and comic book artists. This year's main stars being William Shatner (Capt. Kirk; Star Trek) and the man himself Stan Lee (Comic Book Icon; creator of Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men).

There are photo opps, panels, an artist galley, a costume contest, anime events, gaming corner, lego displays, and of course the booths with everything imaginable for sale.

Unfortunately, we didn't get very many photos of our trip, apparently someone (Chris!) left the camera on and let the battery die and didn't recharge it, so all we got was five pics (one is kinda on the blurry side) but here they are folks...

Sadly those pics of the droids were only in the first ten feet of the display, we could have gotten another twenty pics, but on that third pic, the camera went "Goodbye"

Our stroll through the artist galley left us wondering how much wall space we can clear so we can start buying everything we see (and where are that money would come from to purchase).

But here are links to some of our favorites that we picked up cards for...
If you're looking for a new blog to read well we've found a good one while at Megacon as well...The Ghost Pig
All in all, we had a great time. Saw some awesome costumes, great artwork, glimpses of some of our favorite artists and media guests, and even got involved in some great debates.

If you attended Megacon and would like to share your experiences or share your pictures, then please feel free to leave us a comment, we'd love to hear from you.

Hope to see you all there next year (Feb. 17-19, 2012)

To The Comic Book Store #19

This week's run to the comic book store was quite an experience. Half the store was torn apart because they are preparing for their booth at Megacon this weekend, and because school is out for spring break the place was mobbed with kids.

But we came away with a good stash and here it is...

To The Comic Book Store #18

Well due to overwhelming crowds and the fact that staff had terrible migraines, we did not pick up anything free this week during our run to the local comic book store.

We did however still drop a few bucks on one new comic.

We have said this multiple times but we're say it again, if you're not reading Uncanny X-Force, you want to right NOW!!! It is good and well worth the money.

Until next time...have a nice day. -GJ

To The Comic Book Store #16

Everything we picked up this week was from the free bin, shockingly for the first time in a long time, we walked out without spending a dime. So proud of ourselves.
