It's In The Details

We here at the post are avid collectors of action figures and we pride ourselves on creating the best collections possible. However it has come to our attention that some toy companies are not taking pride in their work. Minor details have been overlooked and we understand this can happen on occasion but when it's done for one character in back to back releases, well we can't hold our tongues any longer.

Hasbro has released two action figures for Luke Skywalker in his Tatooine garbs in Return of the Jedi. The figure released in 2007 was one created for Luke's battle with the Rancor. However if you look at his right hand you can see that the blaster damage is already there and he didn't obtain this injury until after this fight and on Jabba's sail barge.

The Skywalker figure released in 2008 is described as Luke making his way through a sandstorm while heading back towards the Millennium Falcon. But again looking at his right hand he is already wearing the black glove to cover his injury, but keep in mind he didn't but the glove on until he left Tatooine.

This is not an attack on Hasbro, and we understand there can't be a figure for every single scene, so you have to use that one figure if reenacting a series of scenes. All we're asking is that if a company is going to take the time to create a figure for a particular scene and release other figures for later scenes then careful attention to detail should be taken.

There are thousands of action figures already on store shelves with more to be produced. Some are perfect down to the tiniest detail, some not even close to resembling the character they were created for. It's these problem figures or any other toy, that we want to hear about. Granted we really can't do anything to help you, but doesn't it feel better to get it off your chest?

Interesting Movie Fact #0003

In Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi when Boba Fett plunges into the Sarlacc pit, George Lucas had no intentions of having the bounty hunter reemerge.

However when learning of the character's popularity and receiving multiple requests from authors to allow them to continue Boba Fett's story, George Lucas went ahead and gave the green light to do so.
